As we approach Mother’s Day, Team Athey would like to take a moment to pause and reflect on the women in our lives that have inspired us through the years. From world-renown women to the not-so-famous, but dearly-loved mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, and friends—we want to honor women everywhere for their strength, grace, humility, and fearlessness.
From Queen Elizabeth to Melinda Gates to Malala Yousafzai to Serena Williams, without a doubt there are many women whose successes have made a better world for the females that followed them. And these are just a few famous names that come to mind. There are many, many more. And at Team Athey we’re thankful for these brave souls who’ve dared to be in charge of their own destiny.

This is especially true for aviation and space. From the first women of flight to those leading space shuttle missions, we celebrate the women who’ve boldly gone into a field once dominated by men. Suzanne Athey, owner of Team Athey, say’s as a female pilot she definitely appreciates these courageous women for paving the way. They are a reminder that we should not be afraid to step out and be first in all areas of life.
Who is someone that has set an example for you? Perhaps a teacher that inspired your career. Or a grandmother who taught you what grace under pressure really means.
