The Texas Education Agency issued its school district accountability ratings last week for the first time since 2019 — and see some of the top-ranked districts that make the grade.
Moving is hard enough especially when you are considering how the school districts are rated. Here are just some that made the " A Team".
1. Lovejoy ISD
The small district of Lovejoy ISD serves about 4,700 students who live near Allen, in the Fairview, and Lucas areas.
The district scored 99 out of 100 in the TEA ratings, with a perfect score in closing the gaps — which evaluates learning for Spanish speakers, economically disadvantaged, and students with disabilities.
2. Wylie ISD
Wylie scored 96 out of 100 on the TEA scale. The district has about 17,000 students and got A ratings in student achievement, school progress, and closing the gaps.
3. Melissa ISD
The small district of Melissa, with just 4,000 students, scored 95 out of 100 on the TEA scale."Melissa ISD is not only high-ranked in education; the district also touts its safety measures, advertising that its staff is armed and trained “and will use the force necessary to protect our children.”
4. Highland Park ISD
Highland Park has historically ranked high in the TEA ratings — and the Park Cities community is also known for its large, expensive homes. This year the district scored 98 out of 100 in accountability.
5. Coppell ISD
Coppell ISD is another super star with a 97 out of 100 on the TEA scale.
6. Frisco ISD
FISD is the largest school district in North Texas to receive an ‘A’ accountability rating from TEA and scored 95 out of 100.
7. Allen ISD
Allen ISD School District ranks among the top 20% of public school district in Texas and scored a 94 out of 100 on the TEA.
8. Aledo ISD
Located halfway between Fort Worth and Weatherford scored 94 out of 100 on the TEA scale.. In addition to Aledo, the district also serves the towns of Annetta and Annetta South as well as portions of Annetta North, Cresson, Hudson Oaks, and Willow Park.,
9. RockwalI ISD
Rockwall ISD scored an immpressive 94 out of 100 s TEA scale and an "A" for the second year in a row..
10. Van Alstyne ISD
Van Alstyne ISD scored a fantastic 94 out of 100 on the TEA scale.
